We actively promote diversity of ideas, beliefs and contributions both at the faculty and administrative levels.  The Centre has recruited faculty and students, from various disciplines and strongly promotes professional development of all our staff and offer benefits comparable to best institutions in the country.

The Centre’s faculty comprises of Professors, Senior Fellows and Fellows in various disciplines of social sciences including, Sociology, History, Political Science, Economics, Cultural Studies etc.  Appointments in these posts are made from time to time and are advertised in leading newspapers and on the announcement page of this website.  All selections are made by recommendation of a committee of experts.  All faculty members are expected to do research, to teach the Centre’s courses and to take part in running and organizing Centre’s activities, including commissioned research projects.  Faculty may if necessary take a limited time off to fulfill teaching or research commitments at other institutions.  Assistance towards fieldwork, travel and research related expenses are available up to a certain amount.       

The administrative positions are also advertised in the newspapers. 

Apart from that, we regularly offer positions for Research Assistants for various projects in Economics, History, Political Science etc.  The minimum requirement for these positions is a good Masters degree in the relevant subject.  These positions are not permanent and salary and duration of appointment depend fully on the nature of the project.

Visiting Positions at the faculty level are available from time to time and individual faculty members may be contacted for information and scope on collaborative research.  The Centre is equipped with state of the art computing and other academic facilities like library, digital archive, access to online databases, etc. and regularly holds seminar, conferences and workshops that draw academics from all over the world.
